SWOP Brooklyn is a 100% volunteer-run Peer-led organization dedicated to supporting New york sex workers in need.

Who we are

SWOP Brooklyn (Sex Workers Outreach Project) was founded in October of 2019 with the mission to build community and provide mutual aid to sex workers in Brooklyn, and to support the efforts of sibling organizations like SWOP Bronx and Red Canary Song.

SWOP Brooklyn is a chapter of SWOP USA, a national organization dedicated to the advocacy and care of sex workers. Founded in 2003 in Seattle, there are now chapters all across the United States. SWOP-USA is a national social justice network dedicated to the fundamental human rights of people involved in the sex trade and their communities, focusing on ending violence and stigma through education and advocacy.  SWOP adopts the principles and practices of nonviolent action in order to reduce violence and achieve dignity and rights for sex workers and is committed to the respect, safety, and autonomy of all sex workers, and seeks to amplify the voices of those who are often left out of discourse around the issues we address collectively as a social justice movement.
